The Friends of the Wallingford Animal Shelter Scholarship Criteria - 2024
The Friends of the Wallingford Animal Shelter is grateful for the individuals who support the mission of our organization and dedicate their time and efforts to support animals in need.
This is why we are excited to announce The Friends of the Wallingford Animal Shelter Scholarship. This $1,000 scholarship opportunity will be awarded to a caring individual who demonstrates their love for animals and a commitment to increasing animal welfare.
Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
- The Friends of the Wallingford Animal Shelter Scholarship is available to any high school senior who will be attending an accredited community college, or undergraduate program in the United States in the fall 2024 semester.
To be considered for this scholarship, candidates must:
- Have volunteered with the Friends of the Wallingford Animal Shelter. Hours must have been completed between January 1, 2022, up until the time the application is submitted.
- Submit an original essay of approximately 750 words (12-point, Times New Roman font preferred) that answers the following prompt: Discuss your relationship with a rescue animal or our volunteer organization and how it has impacted your life.
- Submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor at their current institution.
Submission Details and Deadline Information:
Scholarship applicants must submit their complete application (confirmation of 100 volunteer hours at the time of application, essay, and letter of recommendation) by email to info.friendsofwas@gmail.com
The official deadline for all application materials is May 10, 2024. Applications received after this date will not be considered.
All scholarship application submission emails must contain the following subject line: Applicant’s First and Last Name — 2024 Scholarship.
Scholarship will be awarded by June 8, 2024.
