About Us :: Giving Back

Embracing a strong community outreach ethic, WASAA artists regularly partner, collectively or individually, with local and regional organizations in a myriad of community activities such as:

• Offering engaging summer art classes for Lowell youth through the FREE Summer Art Program at Western Avenue Studios
  
• Acting as a resource for area schools, including the University of Massachusetts - Lowell, Middlesex Community College and Lowell High School
• Partnering with local hotels on art weekend packages targeted at serving Lowell’s burgeoning art-based tourism
• Supporting other non-profits through joint events to raise money and awareness, such as:
  • Lowell Humane Society - helping to find loving homes for abandoned and homeless pets
    
  • Dirty, Smelly, Noisy – celebrating the inspiration to be found in industrial spaces and places
  • The Miracle Providers NorthEast - assisting children infected and affected by HIV/Aids
